Systweak Toolbar is a potentially unwanted program, a browser hijacker that claims to enhance the user’s browsing experience. Often it is bundled with or promoted via other free downloads. Once it gets installed on your device, it will add the Systweak Community Toolbar and replace your homepage with search.conduit.com. It will set Systweak Customized Web Search as your default search engine. It set itself as your default home page and shows advertisements and sponsored links. In the search results, it collects your search keywords and terms to trade on them. The Systweak Toolbar developers use it as an infection to boost advertising revenue, by suing blackhat SEO techniques to get the good rank in search results.

Technically, the Systweak Toolbar is not a virus, but it shows various malicious traits like browser hijacking, rootkit capabilities to hook deep into the operating system, etc.  The Systweak Toolbar is actually a browser hijacker that generally creates interference while browsing by display malicious and sponsored links and advertisements.  Systweak Toolbar got on your device if you have installed a freeware that bundles this browser hijacker stealthily. In fact, custom installer on many download sites also bundle this browser hijacking toolbar within and if you download any software from these websites, you may install it on your system while you accept the terms of installation of the main software.

Most of the times Systweak Toolbar gets installed during the software setup process without the permission of the users. Most of the times, users have no idea from where they get it. If they notice its presence, they assume that it is a virus infection. So you should always be attentive while installing something online as most of the third-party software downloading sites includes optional installs like this browser hijacker, Systweak Toolbar. Read the license agreement before accepting what you are going to install.

Removal Guide of Systweak Toolbar                                          

To get rid of Systweak Toolbar, perform all the steps in the correct order.

STEP 1: Uninstall Systweak Toolbar program from your computer

If there is any malicious program installed on your computer, try to find out where it is saved.

  1. For uninstalling Systweak Toolbar from your system, click the Start button, go to Control Panel, and click on Uninstall a program.
  2. Windows 8 users just need to simply drag mouse pointer to the right edge of the screen, choose Search from the list and look for “control panel“. Or right-click on a bottom left corner (formerly the Start button) and pick Control Panel from there, then select the option Uninstall a program.
  3. When the Uninstall a Program or the Add/Remove Programs screen is displayed, scroll through the entire list of recently installed programs. There find the program Search Protect by conduit, Systweak Toolbar for IE, ValueApps and any other recently installed or unknown programs and install them from your computer.

The above program may get installed with different name and it totally depends on what program has installed the Systweak Community Toolbar. If you don’t find any unknown or unwanted programs on your computer, proceed with the next step.

STEP 2: Remove Systweak Toolbar from your browser

Remove Systweak Toolbar from Internet Explorer

  1. Open your Internet Explorer browser, far right at the top, click on the gear icon (Tools for Windows XP users), then on Internet Options.
  2. Click on the Advanced tab in the Internet Options dialog box, then click on the Reset button.
  3. Check the Delete personal settings box in the Reset Internet Explorer settings section,, then click on Reset button.
  4. When Explorer finishes resetting, in the confirmation dialogue box, click Close and then OK.
  5. Close Internet Explorer and open it again.

Remove Systweak Toolbar from Mozilla Firefox

  1. Right side at the top of the Firefox window there is a Firefox button (three horizontal bars), click on that and choose Add-ons.
  2. Select the Extensions tab and remove Systweak, ValueApps and any other unknown extensions from your browser.
  3. Now reset your default search engine and homepage from Systweak Customized Web Search to their default.

Remove Systweak Toolbar extensions from Google Chrome.

  1. On the browser toolbar, click the Chrome menu Chrome menu button, select Tools and then Extensions.
  2. To remove Systweak, ValueApps and any other unknown extensions, click the trash can icon in the Extensions tab.
  3. Set Google Chrome or any other browser that you use as your default search engine from Systweak Customized Web Search.
  4. Now click Chrome menu button, select Settings and click on Manage search engines in the Search section.
  5. Select Google in the Search Engines dialog that appears, and click on the Make Default button that appears in the row.
  6. In the Search Engines list, Search for Conduit and click the X button that display at the end of the row.
  7. Change your homepage to Google Chrome from search.conduit.com.
  8. As Conduit modifies your Google settings to open their webpage so whenever you start your browser, it will be needed to revert this change.
  9. Click the Chrome menu button, choose Settings and click on One the New Tab page in the On Startup section.

STEP 3: Remove Systweak Toolbar browser hijacker with defencebyte AV Pro
